The Stages Of The Silkworm
First the silkworm hatches from its egg which takes 3 - 4 days.
After there is four molts.The first molt takes 2 ½ - 3 days. The second molt takes 3 - 4 days.The third molt takes 4 days.The fourth molt takes 6 - 8 days. Next is the ripe silk worm then its spinning
a silk filament which then is a cocoon. The cocoon is cut open and inside is the pupa. Then there is the emergence from the cocoon, it takes 10 - 12 days.The silk moth then mates. The female moth will lay 300 - 500 eggs. There's a close up of an egg. after the female lays eggs they will hatch then the lifecycle starts again from the beginning.
