About The Silkworm
The silkworm is the caterpillar that makes the silk.The silkworm makes its cocoon which gives us the silk to use.The silkworm stores the silk in liquid form in two glands in its head. One of the glands has protein the other has glue and when they come together they make silk. The silk then comes out of a hole in their head.
Facts about silk
The silkworm eats mulberry leaves. When the silkworm turns into a moth they can lay about 200 to 500 eggs each. Silkworms eat mulberry leaves for 4 to 5 weeks. It takes a silkworm 2 days to make a cocoon for itself. The silk egg is one strand of silk the whole time and it is fairly strong.

Silk can be made into clothes, cloths, wall hangings, pajamas, gowns, pillow cases, robes, t-shirts, pants, water-colour t-shirts,bags, wedding dresses, flowers, ties, hoods, blouses, singlets, long sleeves, sulfur, jerseys, sweaters and lots more.
